Hydration Companion — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Hydration Companion (the "App", package id com.zentryx.hydration), developed and published by Zentryx ("we", "us", "our"), handles your information on Android and iOS. It applies only to Hydration Companion; our other products and website are covered by the Zentryx general Privacy Policy.

1. Summary

Hydration Companion stores your hydration logs, goals, and streaks locally on your device. We do not require an account and we never see your data. The free version shows ads via Google AdMob, which may use your device advertising ID.

2. Information the App handles

• Hydration & profile data (on-device only): Water intake logs, drink types, daily goals, streaks, badges, reminder schedule, and optional profile inputs (e.g., weight used to suggest a goal). Stored locally; never uploaded to our servers.
• Advertising identifier (by AdMob): The Google AdMob SDK may read your device advertising ID (AAID) to serve and frequency-cap ads. Zentryx does not receive or store this identifier.

2.1 What we do not collect

• No account, name, email, or phone number is required or collected.
• No location data is collected.
• No contacts, photos, files, SMS, or call logs are accessed.
• We do not sell personal data.

3. Permissions the App requests — and why

Hydration Companion requests only the permissions needed for the features you use. You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; the related feature simply stops working.

• Notifications — To deliver the hydration reminders you schedule.
• Exact alarms — So reminders arrive on time even when the device is in Doze mode.
• Run at startup — To re-register your reminder schedule after the device reboots.
• Ignore battery optimisations (optional) — Only requested if reminders are being delayed by aggressive battery savers. You can decline.
• Vibration — Haptic feedback for reminders and interactions.
• Internet / network state — Required by AdMob to load ads.

4. Third-party services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob — Displays banner/interstitial ads. May access the device advertising identifier (AAID) to serve and frequency-cap ads. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Privacy policy.
• Google Play services — App distribution, updates, and aggregate crash/ANR reports provided by the Google Play Store. Privacy policy.

5. Where your data is stored

Hydration logs and preferences are stored locally on your device (MMKV + SQLite). Zentryx operates no backend for this app.

6. Data retention & deletion

Use "Reset data" inside the app settings, or uninstall the app — both remove all locally stored data immediately. To opt out of personalised ads, reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

7. Security

We follow privacy-by-design principles: data minimisation, on-device processing wherever possible, encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) for any network feature, and regular dependency patching. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but the most effective safeguard in Hydration Companion is structural — we simply do not collect what we do not need.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
