SolarForge — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SolarForge (the "App", package id com.zentryx.solarforged), developed and published by Zentryx ("we", "us", "our"), handles your information on Android and iOS. It applies only to SolarForge; our other products and website are covered by the Zentryx general Privacy Policy.

1. Summary

SolarForge is an offline-first professional toolkit. Your location is used only on your device to compute sun position, magnetic declination, and solar geometry for the site you are surveying — it is never transmitted to us or any third party. Projects, clients, and calculations you create are stored locally on your phone. The app contains no ads, no analytics, and no tracking.

2. Information the App handles

• Precise / approximate location (on-device only): Used in real time for the solar compass (true heading via magnetic declination), sun-path calculation, and site-specific energy estimates. Processed entirely on your device; never sent to any server.
• Project & client records you create (on-device only): Site details, measurements, sizing calculations, client names/contacts you choose to enter, and generated PDF reports. Stored locally on your device and shared only when you explicitly export or share a file.

2.1 What we do not collect

• No account, sign-up, or login exists — we collect no identity data.
• No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are embedded.
• Location is never stored historically or transmitted off the device.
• No contacts, photos, SMS, or call logs are accessed.
• No data is sold or shared with third parties.

3. Permissions the App requests — and why

SolarForge requests only the permissions needed for the features you use. You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; the related feature simply stops working.

• Location (while in use) — To compute sun position, true-north heading (magnetic declination), and site-accurate solar estimates. Used in real time, on-device only.
• Compass / motion sensors — Powers the solar compass and tilt inclinometer. Readings are processed live and never stored or transmitted.
• Internet — Used only to open external links you tap (e.g., documentation). The app performs no background data transfer.

4. Third-party services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

• Google Play services — App distribution, updates, and aggregate crash/ANR reports provided by the Google Play Store. Privacy policy.

5. Where your data is stored

All projects, preferences, and calculations are stored in local on-device storage (MMKV). Zentryx operates no server for this app and cannot access your data.

6. Data retention & deletion

Delete individual projects from within the app, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data immediately. There is no server-side copy to delete, so no deletion request is necessary — though you can always reach us at the contact below.

7. Security

We follow privacy-by-design principles: data minimisation, on-device processing wherever possible, encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) for any network feature, and regular dependency patching. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but the most effective safeguard in SolarForge is structural — we simply do not collect what we do not need.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
