RideSync — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how RideSync (the "App", package id com.ridesync.tracker), developed and published by Zentryx ("we", "us", "our"), handles your information on Android and iOS. It applies only to RideSync; our other products and website are covered by the Zentryx general Privacy Policy.

1. Summary

RideSync records trips, fuel logs, and maintenance schedules locally on your device. Location is used to record the trips you start and to render the map — trip data never leaves your phone. There is no account, no analytics, and no Zentryx server.

2. Information the App handles

• Trip & location data (on-device only): GPS routes, speed, and elevation for trips you explicitly start recording. Stored locally in SQLite on your device; never uploaded.
• Vehicle & fuel records (on-device only): Vehicles, odometer entries, fuel fill-ups, and service schedules you enter.

2.1 What we do not collect

• No account, name, email, or phone number is collected.
• No analytics or tracking SDKs are embedded.
• Trips are never shared with Zentryx or third parties.
• We do not sell personal data.

3. Permissions the App requests — and why

RideSync requests only the permissions needed for the features you use. You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; the related feature simply stops working.

• Location (precise, incl. background) — To record a trip you have actively started, including when the screen is off or you switch apps mid-ride. Recording stops when you end the trip; location is not accessed otherwise.
• Foreground service — Keeps trip recording reliable during a ride and shows a persistent recording notification.
• Notifications — Service reminders and trip-recording status.
• Biometric / fingerprint (optional) — To lock the app if you enable app lock. Biometric data never leaves the Android keystore.
• Internet — Used by Google Maps to render map tiles. Trip data itself is not uploaded.

4. Third-party services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

• Google Maps Platform — Renders the map view. Google may process standard map-tile requests (IP address, viewport) per its privacy policy. Privacy policy.
• Google Play services — App distribution, updates, and aggregate crash/ANR reports provided by the Google Play Store. Privacy policy.

5. Where your data is stored

All trips, vehicles, and logs are stored locally on your device (SQLite). Zentryx operates no backend for this app.

6. Data retention & deletion

Delete trips or vehicles from within the app, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data immediately.

7. Security

We follow privacy-by-design principles: data minimisation, on-device processing wherever possible, encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) for any network feature, and regular dependency patching. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but the most effective safeguard in RideSync is structural — we simply do not collect what we do not need.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
