BillKit — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BillKit (the "App", package id com.zentryx.billbook), developed and published by Zentryx ("we", "us", "our"), handles your information on Android and iOS. It applies only to BillKit; our other products and website are covered by the Zentryx general Privacy Policy.

1. Summary

BillKit stores all of your business data — products, customers, invoices, payments — locally on your device in an embedded database. Zentryx has no access to it. The free version shows ads via Google AdMob.

2. Information the App handles

• Business data you create (on-device only): Business profile, products, inventory, customer records, invoices, and payments. Stored locally in SQLite on your device; shared only when you explicitly export, print, or share an invoice.
• Advertising identifier (by AdMob): The Google AdMob SDK may read your device advertising ID (AAID) to serve ads. Zentryx does not receive or store this identifier.

2.1 What we do not collect

• No account or sign-up is required — we collect no identity data.
• Your business records are never uploaded to Zentryx servers.
• No contacts, SMS, or call logs are accessed.
• We do not sell personal data.

3. Permissions the App requests — and why

BillKit requests only the permissions needed for the features you use. You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; the related feature simply stops working.

• Camera (optional) — Only when you choose to scan a product barcode. Frames are processed on-device; images are not stored.
• Notifications — Low-stock warnings and daily sales summaries you enable.
• Storage / media — To save generated invoice PDFs and local backups you create.
• Internet — Required by AdMob to load ads.

4. Third-party services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob — Displays banner/interstitial ads. May access the device advertising identifier (AAID) to serve and frequency-cap ads. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Privacy policy.
• Google Play services — App distribution, updates, and aggregate crash/ANR reports provided by the Google Play Store. Privacy policy.

5. Where your data is stored

All business data is stored locally on your device (SQLite + MMKV). Backups are created only where you choose to save them.

6. Data retention & deletion

Delete records from within the app, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data. Exported PDFs/backups you saved elsewhere remain under your control.

7. Security

We follow privacy-by-design principles: data minimisation, on-device processing wherever possible, encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) for any network feature, and regular dependency patching. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but the most effective safeguard in BillKit is structural — we simply do not collect what we do not need.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
